Alma Mater is dear to every one of us. We fondly remember memories of our student days and are grateful to the Institution that has groomed us into, what we are today. At the same time, Alumni are the assets and brand ambassadors of any Institution.

Ever since their graduation, ICFAI University Jharkhand (IUJ) Alumni have grown professionally in a big way and have made our University proud of them. Today, over 600 IUJ Alumni are working in wide-spread locations, across the country and the world , in diverse sectors like Banking ,Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) , IT/ITES, Telecom , Government , Manufacturing , Retail, Media and Entertainment , NGOs etc. I am delighted to note that some of the Alumni have become Successful Entrepreneurs, having started businesses in sectors like education, financial services and real estate. I am also happy to note that some of the alumni are working in senior roles in reputed corporates like Reliance, Hindustan Unilever, Cadbury, Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Cognizant, WIPRO, Hindustan Times and Vodafone etc.

In our endeavor to create a platform for all the IUJ alumni to interact with each other and share views / experiences with each other. With this in mind, in the last few weeks, we put in concerted efforts to collect updated details of Alumni and created an Alumni Directory, for the first time. It is just the first-cut and details of a number of Alumni are to be updated. We also designed an online Alumni Portal (www.alumni.iujharkhand.edu.in ) to provide easy access and facilitate interaction among the alumni and with IUJ. Through the portal, alumni can access IUJ publications like Palaash ( IUJ News letter) and IUJ Journal of Management.

IUJ is keen to have an active and on-going association with its Alumni. The alumni can help the University by way of advice with regard to new courses, updation of curricula, guest lectures, industry visits , offering internships /placements to the students etc . The Alumni also can avail the benefits like using IUJ library resources, career advice, participation in seminars and Management Development Programs, pursue part-time PhD program etc.

In order to organise alumni activities on a continuous basis, it is proposed to form IUJ Alumni Association with chapters in locations, which have at least 20 members . No doubt, level of activity depends on the interest of the Alumni. I request all of you to take active interest and also encourage your class mates to be part of the great “Reconnect Opportunity”.
